EXCLUSIVE: Riker Lynch's Fave R5 Songs Are The Ones You Would Never Expect

Riker Lynch is seriously, so excited about R5‘s new EP, New Addictions.

The bassist spoke a little bit about the new music that the band is putting out and hints at even more coming out in the fall.

“We’ve been working on these 5 new songs for a while and I think they’re really good so I’m very much looking forward to having them released,” he tells us. “Then [there's] the next 5 or 6 songs for the fall hopefully.”

Riker also chatted with us about his absolute favorite R5 songs and the moments that will always be on his list of ‘favorite moments ever’.

“I think our Sometime Last Night Tour was a pretty big moment for us,” he shares. “With that album we finally fought our way to write most of it and make it sound the way we wanted it to sound.”

He adds, “That tour was pretty massive. U.S., Europe, South America, Japan, Australia, U.S. again. It was so much fun. Also just the sound of our new stuff on New Addictions we always feel that we must raise our personal bar of achievement and we definitely feel that we have with New Addictions.”

So what are Riker‘s fave R5 tracks? He sites “Nine Lives” as one that the band doesn’t play, but has made it on his favorites list and the ones he still loves to play.

“There are a couple B side songs or older songs that we don’t play anymore that I would like to but the rest of the band would never agree with me on,” Riker says. “‘Do It Again’ could be fun to play. ‘Wishing I Was 23′, ‘Say You’ll Stay’, ‘Keep Away’. Those are oldies (laughs).”

If you missed them, get the stories behind “If“, “Red Velvet“, “Lay Your Head Down” and “Trading Time“.
